super cute in japanese!

oh my oh my, what a week! by the time that ive arrived in front of this computer more has happened today of significance that it seems to overshadow my week. so, this post will be long. and there will be no order, as there never is with me. i was always told that my academic papers need more control. ha ha.

so, today. the update on the diesel-is-not-good-for-gasoline-cars fandangle. my shame wore off when i found out that ppl in my family, that i hold in high esteem have also done the same thing. so phew. i regained some of my composure. ha ha. just as i was typing that i knocked over my cup of soda and spilled a bit on the table. ha ha. but its all good. the tank was emptied. and gasoline put in. and its running fine. and im only 12000yen lighter. about 140cdn. which is fine. really. its just better to know that it was fixable. and we learn from our mistakes. okay, so now that shaming is over, on to better things.

this week started off really low. i suffered a terrible bout of homesickness after my last major posting activities/checking emails, and was dead lonely and worked the bare minimum all week, and just did absolutley nothing really. but then, two days ago i started to feel a lot better, and am honestly on the upswing. on wednesday naho-san and i went for tonkatsu. basically breaded meat. and it was really good. and we had quite a bit of fun. my classes went okay on thursday, but friday and saturday were really good. so the following are the two big fabulous things that happened this week, yet they happened only in the last 36 hours.

1. yesterday i went to a new shop called chank. we always drive past it on our way to shirataka, and its in miyauchi, really close to nanyo, they're actually attached, but its a good distance from my flat, so i never really went on my own. anyway, on saturday i had access to a vehicle and went. there's a scooter in the window and that was what always got me. i went in and the cutest guy was working the counter, late 20s. and i assume owner. but anyway, chank is this sort of stationary store that also doubles as a store with cool shit. like faux ghetto blaster bags, and punk gear, and sunglasses, and retro stuff. but also this mass of stationary. the guy and i talked very little. as i cannot speak japanese and he cannot speak english. but we communicated that im from canada, and that i live in akayu, and that today i have a car, and that in canada they drive on the other side of the road. and then i couldnt just leave without buying anything, and i didnt really want to buy anything b/c im going to sendai, and i didnt really need another black bag. but ive been playing with the idea of skulls lately and have started to think that they're actually pretty cool. and this tote was only 1000yen. ive posted a picturekokoここ. and its a way to make an impression (thanks kalin!), and he probably has a girlfriend, but damn, im going to make every excuse to get there and buy shit, and practise my japanese, just so i can talk to him. gaaa! and maybe ill get my first "first date" and in japanese!

okay, 2. im in love with this place in anacortes, wa called the department of safety. anyway, ive never been there and have only admired them from afar. but, i approached them about doing an artshow in november, and they said okay! yippeee! my first show! im so excited and am not going to talk about anything that im going to include, but im totally enthused and its just so so so fabulous. i cannot even explain it. oooh, and a link, to check out the coolest stuff ive seen in a while, black bird fashion. i especially love the skull hoodie, but as i said, im enamored with skulls.

okay, as a final note, i got the new gwen stefani cd in the mail, and truthfully, sadly, its awful. terrible. but more passable than xtina's stripped, and i just love gwenniegwengwen, though she could gain some weight. the cd is pretty much a write off but for "whatchyawaitingfor?", and two songs, "serious" and "danger zone". both produced by tony kanal. they have a good 80s feel to them. and i will deem "danger zone" as my favourite song of the moment. oh gwenniegwengwen. why do you have to try and be so hip hop? its disgusting.

When you say Danger Zone, you don't mean the Danger Zone do you? Please tell me she hasn't sullied that most glorious of piloting films, Top Gun.

I don't know if i can talk to you anymore. I loved Gwen's album. You're right when you say that she could bulk up a bit - give the woman a steak and baked potato dinner.
I totally loved that store- Black Bird Fashion.
I miss you Diandra and I'm planning my trip to Europe!
