a day in the life

I can easily say that 2008 was my year. Right up there with 2005, it was one of the best years of my life. As 2011 came to a close I started to get this feeling that 2012 will too be monumental. For what, I'm not sure, but I'm feeling something ramp up, the excitement grow, and I'm ready for 2012 to be amazing. What that seems to mean, so far, is this incredible self transformation from Diandra to Diandra the athlete. Learning about how my body works in a physical capacity and where my limits are physically as well as mentally/emotionally, and food-wise. And utterly committing myself to being a roller derby skater. I know for a fact we'll be moving in a year or two (more like two) so I want to be able to "transfer" into an established, kick ass team, rather than climb up the ranks of fresh meat again. I want another team to want me. And that's going to take a lot of work and dedication. It's super emotionally and physically exhausting, but I'm ready and I'm enjoying it.

my new daily go to
My new go to - Larabars! Check out our post on Larabars at HOME SWEET HOME!
cabbage bean slaw
Learning to eat vegan. A mix of food from the fridge. YUM.
I've also made the commitment to go completely vegan. Two incredibly difficult transitions in just three weeks has been eye opening and a great challenge. Our menu plans are getting a little wild and I'm feeling pretty "clean" on the inside if that makes any sense.

Tonight is Stewart's 28th birthday party! We're having a TMNT themed event and I'm making lots of sheet pizzas meaty, vegan, glutenfree/vegan and stewart's making turtle burgers ala Epic Meal Time. I'll be making 5 batches of pizza dough. We're serving mountain dew as a beverage. And my mom's getting a theme cake. I'm gonna head out and take sethie to the farmer's market. Go to sweet avenue. and then come home, put that kid to bed, and make the dough. Swimming later. I love my weekends.
